1 Mendjisky, Serge, with contributions from Isaac Wagmann, Claude Roger Marx, Raymond Charmet, Charles de Gaulle, Jacques Villon, Raymond Cogniat, Francois Mauriac, and A Dunoyer de Secognac Serge Mendjisky
L'Orangerie No date given. [ mid-1960s] Presumed first Hardback with dust wrapper. Near Fine Good Illustrated with colour and mono reproductions of the artists works.
Mendjisky was a superb impressionist painter of the Pointillist school, although he says he dislikes the term, and his work compares with Signac or Seurat. In addition to his paintings, there are examples of his exquisite drawings and some sculptures. This is a beautifully produced book, printed on heavy art paper, which does full justice to the author's vibrant palette. While the book itself is almost immaculate, the wrapper has some wear, and a closed tear. 490042

"Now am I happy, snug and warm!
For all in scorn of the wintry weather,
And heedless quite of the howling storm,
My books and I are alone together.
